Glue Stains

Do you ever feel like you know just enough about glue stains to be dangerous? Let's see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from glue stains experts.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

Soft

If the glue is still soft get a hand towel or paper towel and blot the stain with warm water. You can try using ammonia and dab the stain until it fades. You can also use vinegar and dab it with a paper towel. Be careful not to let the vinegar sit on the stain too long because it may damage the fabric.

Hardened

If it has hardened things are going to be a little harder. Get something sharp preferably scissors and some warm water and cleaning detergent. Blot it with the detergent and then use the scissors to scrape off the glue. Wipe off the area with warm water and let dry. If it still hasn't faded try using ammonia and use the same steps. You can also try using petroleum jelly, but use this option as a last resort.

Fabric

On fabric you should pretreat with a stain remover. You should check the label on the cleaning product to make sure it wont damage the fabric of clothing you are cleaning. For most laundry cleaning items you will be okay, but dry cleaning items you should be extra careful.

Household

For Household you can blot the stain with a detergent solution. Do it until the mark fades, and then get some cold water and dab it and let it dry.

Carpet

Get some liquid detergent and warm water. Get a hand towel or sponge and blot the area. You can also use ammonia and use the same steps. Wipe it off with cold water when finished and let it dry.
